Capano: “It is a disgrace that a CUNY campus would host a celebration for a terrorist”
Bob Capano, an adjunct Professor with the City University of New York (CUNY) for the past 15 years and the leading Republican candidate for the 43rd Council District (Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach, Bensonhurst) today blasted Hostos Community College, which is part of CUNY, a taxpayer funded institution, for hosting a victory celebration for Oscar Lopez Rivera on June 8th.
Bob Capano said, “As an adjunct Professor with CUNY for the past 15 years, I am ashamed and disgusted. It is a disgrace that a CUNY institution would host a celebration for a terrorist.”
The “Victory Celebration” for Oscar Lopez Rivera is scheduled for June 8th at 7:00 p.m. at the Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture. Tickets are being sold to students and the public.
Lopez Rivera was a leader with FALN, a Marxist-Leninist organization, that was responsible for over 100 bombings in New York, Chicago, and other U.S. cities. The 1975 bombing at Fraunces Tavern in Manhattan killed four people.
