Brooklyn Reform Party Chairman Statement on the State of the Union Address

Bob Capano, the newly elected Chairman of the Kings County Reform Party and former Republican candidate last year for Brooklyn’s 43rd City Council District, released the following statement on President Trump’s State of the Union address:

“It was disappointing to see some Members of Congress sit on their hands and grind their teeth while the President spoke about issues that should unite us all, including rising wages, a booming stock market, record low unemployment rates among African-Americans and Hispanics, investing in our infrastructure, and allowing terminal patients ‘the right to try’ experimental drugs. Indeed, Brooklynites dream of improved infrastructure, especially for the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE) which is always crumbling and under repair. Most Kings County residents support the President’s call for additional treatment of opioid addiction, expanding job training and vocational schools, and making sure we have the strongest military in the world. Members of all political parties should be guided by what is best for our city, state, and nation, not the desire to resist anything and everything just because it is proposed by the person currently sitting in the Oval Office.”
